Dr. Yu as a physician
Good health is often simpler than we make it.
Like most things in life, the more time, care, and effort we invest in our health, the better the results are. Health comes from nourishing food, regular movement, restorative sleep, meaningful relationships, a sense of community, and minimization of toxins and stress that surround us.
Good health is not wrapped in a pill. It is found in the time you spend preparing a healthy meal, the thought you put into grocery shopping and meal planning, the walk you take after dinner, the laughter shared with family and friends, and the small acts of kindness — holding the door open for someone, offering a smile, or checking in on a neighbor — that strengthen both us and our communities.
My role is to remind you of these simple truths and to partner with you in building a healthier life. Together, we will focus first on preventing illness and helping your body function at its best through sustainable lifestyle choices.
But life is not always within our control. Despite our best efforts, sometimes illness finds us. When it does, I will be here with the medical knowledge, experience, and tools to diagnose, treat, and guide you through it.
My goal is always to help you stay healthy so that medications become the exception rather than the rule. And when they are needed, you can trust that we will use them thoughtfully, based on the best available evidence and tailored to your individual needs.
Most importantly, I’m here for you — not just to treat disease, but to help you live a healthier, fuller, and more meaningful life.
Dr. Yu as a person,
as quoted by an array of her friends through the years:
“Lynn (Dr. Yu), a loyal friend since elementary school, has always cherished the local community in which we were raised. As ten-year-olds, we shared a curiosity about the world. In fifth grade, she selected for her school project the seven wonders of our state, finding the largest tree in CT nearby, on the banks of the Farmington River. Like the tree, Lynn has grown and thrived in the Farmington Valley. Her steady, caring presence was especially meaningful when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer during the pandemic. From California, I was relieved to know that Mom was one of Lynn’s patients. Her attention, wisdom, and personal connections with specialists were invaluable. Lynn’s steadfast and caring presence has been a blessing, driven by her heart’s desire for others’ flourishing.” – friend from Tootin’ Hills Elementary School
“I have known Lynn since 6th grade, and I have seen her journey to her dream of becoming a doctor. She has always had an incredible work ethic, is amazing with her patients, and is always available when you need her. If I lived in the area, she would be my doctor!” – friend from Henry James Memorial School
“Lynn is one of those people who can ask you direct questions and tell you what you need to hear, while also making you feel supported, seen, and able to keep laughing. That balance is not only rare but also special. I’m lucky to have had her in my life for over 30 years! Oh, and she’s a whiz with word searches. Like crazy lightning fast.” – friend from Henry James Memorial School
“As her college roommate and friend, I got to see what motivated her to get up in the morning and to pursue medicine as a profession. Lynn is driven by compassion, service, and opportunities to heal, and these qualities have only deepened since we met decades ago. It is no surprise to me that Lynn has returned to her hometown where her heart is, to pay it forward to the community that gave her so much. If I didn’t live so far away, I would be her patient!” – friend from Harvard College
“I had the privilege of attending medical school alongside Dr. Yu, and I witnessed firsthand the compassion, resilience, and dedication she brings to everything she does. She was the kind of classmate and friend who was always ready to offer a listening ear or a helping hand, even while balancing the extraordinary responsibilities of becoming a mother of two during medical school. Her ability to care deeply for others without ever losing sight of her own family is truly remarkable. I have no doubt that the same empathy, strength, and commitment that made her such an exceptional friend have made her an outstanding physician. Any patient under Dr. Yu’s care can feel confident they are being treated by someone who is not only highly skilled, but genuinely compassionate.” – friend from Drexel University College School of Medicine
